Summer 2020 Reception

With our COVID-19 numbers remaining low, we are all hopeful that the "summer of virus" will soon be behind us. So many things have changed and much of our normal routines have been disrupted by postponement or cancellation. My staff and I have been working every day on assisting constituents with small business survival, unemployment claims, personal and financial needs as well as health concerns.

This time of year we are normally getting prepared for the upcoming session of the General Assembly and, in fact, we are beginning to do that in spite of the fact that we are not entirely sure what changes may be made in the way that session is conducted this time. We have continued to attend meetings and events in the district as possible but many of them have been virtual.

We are also normally planning for our annual Fall Endless Summer event and we have received many inquiries about it from those who usually attend. It is always such a great event to close out the summer and meet with so many of our friends and supporters before the session in Annapolis starts. Of course, that is not possible this year in the traditional way. Instead, we are having this small event with a limit on the number of attendees and observing current CDC Guidelines.

If we exceed our attendance limit, we will consider organizing a second one. For now, we look forward to seeing as many of you on Oct. 29th as are able.
